Four of Lawfront’s six regional law firms have been recognised in The Times Best Law Firms 2026 – the newspaper’s prestigious annual list of the top 250 legal practices in England and Wales.
Brachers, Nelsons, Slater Heelis, and Trethowans have all earned places on this year’s list, which is compiled by international market research company Statista based on thousands of recommendations from solicitors across the country. The rankings reflect peer recognition of firms held in the highest regard, with solicitors voting across a wide range of categories, including business, public, and private client services.
The methodology ensures the list remains a definitive reflection of the most respected firms in the legal industry – solicitors cannot vote for themselves, and each can only vote once.
This collective recognition highlights the strength and quality of legal services across the Lawfront group, with each of the four firms demonstrating excellence in their respective regions and practice areas.
Brachers was particularly commended for its company and commercial law practice. Nelsons was recommended for personal injury and clinical negligence. Slater Heelis, which has achieved this recognition for five consecutive years, also received special commendation for its family law team. Trethowans was commended for family law, personal injury and clinical negligence.
All four firms are also highly recommended in the recent Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners rankings, reflecting Lawfront’s commitment to supporting firms that offer the broadest quality offering in regional law.
Axel Koelsch, Chief Operating Officer at Lawfront, said:
“Having four of our six partner firms recognised in The Times Best Law Firms 2026 is a testament to the exceptional quality and reputation of the firms within our group. This peer-voted recognition demonstrates that Brachers, Nelsons, Slater Heelis, and Trethowans are delivering outstanding service to their clients and are held in the highest regard by their fellow legal professionals across England and Wales.
“Each firm brings its own strengths and specialisms while maintaining the high standards that clients expect from a leading regional law firm. This collective achievement reinforces Lawfront’s position as the home of regional legal excellence, and we’re immensely proud of the teams across all four firms.”
