With over 40 years of experience in private legal practice, Tony Fisher has been recognised as a leading practitioner for corporate and commercial work by both the Legal 500 and the Chambers directories for many years. Tony holds an MBA in Legal Practice and is a member of various trade and business organisations.
In 2018, Tony was awarded the Modern Law Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in the legal profession in addition to an honorary doctorate by the University of Essex at the University Centre Colchester. In 2022, Tony was appointed as the UK representative on a new Committee of Experts on the Protection of Lawyers at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
Tony's expertise extends beyond commercial work. He is a CEDR accredited mediator and also undertakes international and domestic human rights work. He has appeared as an advocate in the European Court of Human Rights on multiple occasions and was a Fellow of the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex. Additionally, Tony is a member of the Human Rights Committee of the Law Society of England and Wales and sits on the Council of the Law Society as the representative for the Essex constituency.
